Cline Family Shoot - Hello Summer!

I had the pleasure of shooting the Cline family on Wednesday evening after the storms rolled through. I met their mother through the Savage Arts Council a few weeks back. I wanted to give this session a summer feeling for the most part, so I kept it bright and warm.
Kicking things off is Grace, this adorable 10 year old is probably one of the most photogenic kids (aside from my own of course... come on) that I have ever come across. She was a natural in front of the camera. The first two shots remind me of an Anthropologie catalog, if only they had kids clothes.

Marianne & Joe - Engagement

Marianne and Joe's wedding is just around the corner and they wanted to get an engagement session in before then. They originally tried for a spring session, but the poor weather and quickly falling tree blossoms put an end to that. Joe's favorite place is... Chuck-E-Cheeses, so it was only fitting that we start there (before our walk around Centennial Lakes in Edina).
I'm really looking forward to their amazing wedding at the Basilica!

Karl & Karen - Happily Ever After

Karl and Karen were married last weekend, on a slightly rainy Saturday. They had a lovely ceremony at the Jehovah Lutheran Church in St Paul. Followed by a fun reception aboard the Jonathan Padelford river boat. Fortunately the rain stopped after the ceremony just long enough for us to get a few shots at "the gate" in Como Park, and again after the boat ride so we could get this shot.... my favorite of the year so far!

Karen and Karl where a real pleasure to work with, very easy going and considerate. Incidentally, this was the first wedding that I implemented my new camera set up (after a few weeks of testing), and WOW, what a difference.

The odds of this flower/ring shot working out, where about 1 in 10,000. We are standing on a boat, my awesome assistant (Joanne) is holding the bouquet with one hand, and I'm using a manual focus lens. But miraculously, it worked. Our other option was getting a shot of them wedged in the anchor rope (which would have been wicked), but that was voted to be WAY to risky.
