Back in June I had the opportunity to travel to Newfoundland, Canada. It's an amazing province full of the friendliest people you'll ever come across (more on that in another post). But one thing that struck me (probably the deepest since it ended up being my first post in the series... well actually it's probably a tie between this and the littered coast line), were the abandoned homes throughout the entire province. Newfoundland isn't a poor province, at least not anymore. At one point it was one of the poorest, but since oil was discovered not far off shore, things have changed.
So you see big developments and some massive homes (like ridiculously gorgeous homes for the area, that really stand out). But dotted all throughout the province are these abandoned buildings, left standing and battered by the elements.
